What is Alpha?
Alpha is an opportunity to explore life, faith and God in a friendly, open and informal environment.

What does an Alpha look like?
There isn’t really an average Alpha. Alpha is run in local communities all around the world, and everyone is welcome. It runs in coffee shops, churches, bars, prisons, universities, schools and homes. No two Alphas look the same, but they all have three things in common: food, a talk or film, and good conversation.

Whether it’s a group of friends gathered around a kitchen table, or a quick catch-up over coffee, food has a way of bringing people together. It’s no different at Alpha. All sessions start with food, because it’s a great way to connect, relax and build friendships.

The films are designed to be engaging and inspire conversation. Usually around 20 minutes long, they explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions like “Who is Jesus?”, “Why and how do I pray?” and “How does God guide us?”
